How old do you have to be?

Kids race is 5 year old.

Adults Race is 15 years old.

In any case anyone under 18 years of age requires a parent or guardian signature on the waiver.

What is included?

A unique race experience with obstacles not seen before.

Race medal for all finishers

Race shirts for early bird entrants

How many laps can we do?

Kids can do multiple laps as long as it is safe to do so. We say one lap however if there is space and it's safe we say go hard.

The Adult race is strictly one lap per entry.

Is there a place to shower?

Urban events will a water down facility will not be provided.

Rural races will have one.

Do spectators have to pay?

No, But while your spectating have you considered volunteering?

Do adults need to pay to escort their kids around the course?

Parents / Guardians are encouraged to escort their children through the course. However obstacles are not designed for Adults so please refrain from using the kids obstacles.

What sort of obstacles?

Kids obstacles include Monkey Bars, Walls, Tunnels, Ropes, Nets, Crawl, Run and Walk through different obstacles for varying skill levels.

Adults obstacles Include a mix of new and existing obstacles.. Some that have never been seen before.

Are we required to sign the waiver?

All participants are required to complete a waiver. By purchasing a ticket you admit you have read it and agree.

Can we get a refund?

No. Refunds are not accepted. Name transfer can happen only this does attract a $20 fee.

Are we able to change the wave we have selected?

Yes, Up to one week before the event you are to. If it is on event day it will incur a $20 change fee cash only.

The wave I want is full and my friends are on it. Can I do anything?

What should I do on race day?

Rock up 20mins before your wave, have a stretch, hydrate and apply sunscreen. Enjoy the festivities. Snap a selfie tag #perthocr #reddustocr.

What is parking like?

Urban events parking won't be charged however limited parking on race days.

Rural events will be $10 per car.

What do I do if I can't do an obstacle?

If you are elite then you will have a 30 second time box penalty only after a genuine attempt is made. It will require you to enter a box check the stop watch and continue after.

Everyone else you do what you are capable of and if you can't complete step around and continue the course.

OCR Elite Rules

The rules apply only to Elite Racers competing in the Elite Wave

All other waves are non competitive and you complete the course to the best of your ability. If you can't do an obstacle give it a miss and push on.

  1. All time box penalties are a 30 second time period served in the box with the Marshall. Racer must check the stop watch and monitor their time before proceeding.
  2. Army crawl is a mandatory obstacle.
  3. Balance beams failure is a time box penalty. Elite racers must have a genuine attempt. If the attempt is deemed not genuine by the course marshall the elite racer must retry.
  4. Pyramid crossing is a mandatory obstacle.
  5. Ice bath is a mandatory obstacle.
  6. High wall is a mandatory obstacle. Elite racers are not permitted to use the red booster blocks on the framework. Using the red blocks time box penalty.
  7. Dip bar walk is a mandatory obstacle. Feet must not touch the ground. Failure is a time box penalty
  8. Shield jumps are a mandatory obstacle. Feet must not touch the ground.
  9. Ball carry is a mandatory obstacle. The ball must be carried around the whole loop. The ball can be put down but must be picked up again before the racer can move forward. The ball can not be rolled.
  10. Unders and overs are a mandatory obstacle.
  11. Rope wall is a mandatory obstacle.
  12. Sandbag carry is a mandatory obstacle. Sandbags must be carried around the whole loop. The bag can be put down but must be picked up again before the racer can move forward.
  13. Low monkey rig. Elite racers must have a genuine attempt. If the attempt is deemed not genuine by the course marshal the elite racer must retry. Elite racers' feet must not touch the ground or the bar rungs. Failure is a time box penalty.
  14. Inverted walls are a mandatory obstacle. Elite racers are not permitted to use the red booster blocks on the framework.
  15. Spider web is a mandatory obstacle.
  16. Inverted bar climb is a mandatory obstacle. Elite racers are not permitted to use the framework.
  17. High net climb is a mandatory obstacle.
  18. Rope climb is a mandatory obstacle.
  19. Missing link - Elite racers are not permitted to hold framework while progressing through the obstacle. Elite racers' feet must not touch the ground. Elite racers must remove one peg before touching the ground. then remove and return both pegs before progressing. Elite racers must return two pegs to the Marshall. Elite racers must have a genuine attempt. If the attempt is deemed not genuine by the course Marshall the elite racer must retry. Failure is a time box penalty
  20. Hanging boards. Elite racers' feet must not touch the ground. Elite racers' hands are not permitted to hold the top of the boards, support straps or chains. Elite racers must have a genuine attempt. If the attempt is deemed not genuine by the course marshal the elite racer must retry. Failure is a time box penalty
  21. Hamster wheel is a mandatory obstacle. Elite racers' feet must not touch the ground. Failure is a time box penalty
  22. Red dust letter rig. Elite racers' feet must not touch the ground. Elite racers must touch every letter on the rig. Elite racers are not permitted to hold framework while progressing through the obstacle. Elite racers are not permitted to hold support straps/chains. Elite racers must have a genuine attempt. If the attempt is deemed not genuine by the course marshal the elite racer must retry. Failure is a time box penalty
  23. All obstacles are multiple attempts. Unless a time box penalty is attached
  24. Video will be reviewed to confirm all obstacles are completed and all rules adhered to.
  25. In the event of a tied race video footage, GPS and all other attainable evidence will be used to determine the outcome of the placings by event management staff.
  26. All decision appeals must be made on the day of the race. Video footage, GPS and all other attainable evidence will be used to determine an overturn or uphold of a decision.
  27. Race directors decision is final
